Terms of Use
Last updated: March 12, 2026. These Terms govern access to Science For People services and define how s4p allocates responsibilities, protects platform integrity, and limits legal risk to the extent permitted by Estonian and EU law.
By creating an account, signing in, purchasing a service, or otherwise using s4p, you agree to these Terms. Read them together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you have a separately signed enterprise agreement with s4p, that agreement controls to the extent of any inconsistency.
Schedule A: Contract Formation, Eligibility, and Authority
1. Provider and Acceptance
The services are provided by s4p OÜ, an Estonian company. These Terms become binding when you create an account, sign in, click to accept legal terms, place an order, or otherwise use the service.
2. Eligibility and Capacity
You must have legal capacity to enter into this contract and must use the service only for lawful personal or business purposes. If you act on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind it.
3. Account Ownership and Workspace Roles
You are responsible for the accuracy of registration information and for all activity conducted through your account. Workspace administrators are responsible for member access, lawful uploads, and internal authorization inside their organizations.
Schedule B: Account Security, Acceptable Use, and AI Rules
1. AI Output Disclaimer and Human Review
AI outputs are probabilistic and may contain errors, omissions, bias, or outdated information. You remain responsible for reviewing outputs before using them for legal, medical, financial, HR, credit, security, compliance, or other high-impact purposes.
2. Account Security and Credentials
You must maintain the confidentiality of credentials, use reasonable security controls, and notify s4p promptly at support@s4p.eu if you suspect unauthorized access. s4p may require additional verification, invalidate sessions, or suspend access to protect the account.
3. Acceptable Use Restrictions
- Do not use s4p for unlawful activity, fraud, harassment, or deceptive impersonation.
- Do not attempt to bypass security controls, rate limits, access restrictions, or license rules.
- Do not upload content you are not authorized to use or personal data you lack a lawful basis to process.
- Do not use the service for malware, phishing, unauthorized security testing, or denial-of-service activity.
- Do not use AI features for prohibited practices under applicable law, including EU AI Act restrictions.
4. User Content and Limited Service License
You retain rights in the content you submit, subject to the limited rights needed for s4p and its subprocessors to host, process, transmit, secure, back up, and display that content for service delivery, legal compliance, and abuse prevention.
Schedule C: Billing, Taxes, and Consumer Rights
1. Pricing, Plans, and Renewals
Prices, plan scope, and feature limits are shown in the checkout flow, order form, or dashboard.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing date.
Taxes, including VAT where applicable, may be added based on billing country and tax status.
2. Payment Processing and Fraud Controls
Payments may be handled through third-party processors. s4p may suspend fulfillment, block future orders, or retain evidence where payment fraud, chargeback abuse, or sanctions-related risk is reasonably suspected.
3. EU Consumer Withdrawal and Refunds
Mandatory EU consumer rights apply where you qualify as a consumer under applicable law.
For digital content or digital services that start immediately at your express request, the right of withdrawal may be lost once performance begins, where permitted by law and clearly disclosed before payment.
Refunds, credits, or discretionary goodwill adjustments remain subject to the specific product, the amount of service already consumed, anti-abuse review, and any non-excludable legal rights.
Schedule D: Service Changes, Suspension, and Termination
1. Service Evolution and Beta Features
s4p may add, modify, replace, or discontinue features to improve security, comply with law, respond to supplier changes, or refine the product. Beta or preview functionality may be less stable and may change or end without notice.
2. Suspension Rights
s4p may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the platform, investigate fraud or abuse, comply with legal obligations, address payment default, or prevent imminent harm to users, processors, or third parties.
3. Termination by Either Party
You may stop using the service at any time, subject to outstanding payment obligations and notice periods for subscriptions.
s4p may terminate accounts for material breach, persistent misuse, sanctions/export-control risk, or legal necessity.
Termination does not affect accrued rights, surviving payment obligations, or statutory retention duties.
Schedule E: Warranties, Liability, and Risk Allocation
1. Service Provided on an As-Available Basis
Except to the extent non-excludable law requires otherwise, s4p provides the service on an as-available and as-configured basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free output, or fitness for a particular regulated or mission-critical purpose.
2. User Responsibility for Decisions and Compliance
You remain responsible for decisions, communications, filings, transactions, hiring actions, security conclusions, and professional judgments made using outputs or workflows generated through s4p.
3. Liability Limits and Mandatory-Law Carve-Outs
To the maximum extent permitted by law, indirect, incidental, special, and consequential losses are excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, s4p aggregate liability for claims arising out of or related to the service is limited to the amount paid by you for the affected service during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law, including liability for intentional misconduct, fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any non-waivable consumer rights.
Schedule F: Governing Law, Disputes, and Notices
1. Governing Law and Consumer Protection
These Terms are governed by Estonian law. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protections in your country of habitual residence remain applicable to the extent required by law.
2. Complaints and EU ODR Platform Status
Please send complaints or legal notices first to support@s4p.eu.
The former EU Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued on July 20, 2025 by Regulation (EU) 2024/3228. Consumers may still use any dispute-resolution avenues available under mandatory local law.
3. Notices, Changes to Terms, and Continued Use
s4p may update these Terms when the service, legal environment, pricing structure, or risk controls change. Material updates are reflected with a new effective date, and continued use after the revised terms become effective constitutes acceptance unless mandatory law requires a different mechanism.
